Best Ever Turmeric Latte

Ah the turmeric latte, or the Golden latte (depending on how snobby your café is)! What is it you say? Well, for peeps who just can’t handle the caffeine anymore, and who most certainly will not accept decaf in it’s place, it’s a godsend. And you still get to go and meet people for coffee.

Turmeric, arguably the most powerful herb on the planet, has so many healing properties, that to date, there have been over 6,000 peer-reviewed articles published that have proven that. More specifically the articles were demonstrating the benefits of curcumin, the healing compound that turmeric is full of.

Add to that the powerful health benefits of doTERRA’s Protective Blend (Wild Orange, Cinnamon, Clove, Rosemary and Eucalyptus and you have one pretty powerful combination.

NOTE: And this is pretty darn important. Without a certain chemical compound – all that goodness from the turmeric we talked about earlier? Well it’s not exactly absorbed by the body. Unless it is paired with piperine. And where do we find piperine? In black pepper. Just a few cracks of freshly cracked pepper can increase the bioavailability ten fold. Fat will also aid absorption so add 1/2 tsp coconut oil if the milk you are using doesn’t have a high fat content.

{Makes 1 large mug or 2 small cups}

  • 300 ml milk of your choice
  • 1 drop  doTERRA On Guard
  • 1tsp organic turmeric powder
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp raw honey (or maple/rice malt syrup)
  • 1/2 tsp coconut oil (OPTIONAL – see Notes)

1. Warm your milk to hot (but drinkable!)

2. In a large mug (or small jug if you’re serving two smaller cups), mix together the remaining ingredients and stir until a paste is formed.

3. Slowly mix in the warm/hot milk and enjoy!

Let me know if you try this?

**It is very important to only ever use food grade, 100% pure essential oils for use in cooking. I only use and recommend doTERRA Essential Oils.

  1. Well I knew before I made this Turmeric Latte I might not like it, as I don’t drink milk. Sure enough I took one sip, then another and thought I can’t drink this (EOS & cracked pepper was fine….it was the milk).
    So I added a scoop of pure cocoa powder! My new favorite hot beverage!!
    Thanks for the recipe! 🙂
